Get ready for the 15th Annual Red Wine Weekend taking place November 1-2, 2013. Celebrate the fall season with fine red wines, delicious food, and exceptional lodging in Bayfield, WI. A series of events will be held at Le Chateau, a sister property of Old Rittenhouse Inn, and the historic Landmark Restaurant at Old Rittenhouse Inn. The highlight of the weekend is a 6-course gourmet wine dinner with 6 Merlots selected by host, Gary Binter, to match each dish.

Our focus this year is on Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Merlot. At our Friday and Saturday events, guests will taste wines from Ferrari Carano, King Estate, BR Cohn, Castle Rock, Fess Parker, Ritual, Frog’s Leap, Wild Horse, Estancia, Coppola, and others.

This casual event offers a chance to enjoy 5 different Cabernets and a buffet of gourmet appetizers and desserts prepared by Landmark Restaurant at Old Rittenhouse Inn. The tasting takes place at our Le Chateau property, located at 7 Rice Avenue in Bayfield. Meet wine expert, Gary Binter, who shares his vast wine knowledge. Red Wine Seminar: “Sideways” Revisited
Saturday, November 2 from 1:30 – 3:30pm
On Saturday afternoon, host Gary Binter, takes guests on a tour of robust Pinot Noirs. The journey includes stops in Oregon (King Estate), Los Olivos, CA (Fess Parker), Mendocino, CA (Castle Rock), Chile (Ritual) and New Zealand (Sherwood). Gary usually includes a “special component” to this seminar, which we’ll leave as a surprise! This event is included in the Red Wine Weekend Lodging Package, or available a’ la carte for $45/person plus tax and gratuity.
Red Wine Dinner: Great Merlots
Saturday, November 2 from 6:30 – 8:30pm
Without a doubt, the highlight of the weekend is the Red Wine Dinner served at Old Rittenhouse Inn’s Landmark Restaurant on Saturday evening. Each of the 6-courses is accompanied by a Merlot selected by host, Gary Binter, to compliment the menu. The meal includes an appetizer, soup, salad, sorbet, choice of entree, and dessert. This event is included in the Red Wine Weekend Lodging Package, or available a’ la carte for $75/person plus tax and gratuity.
